A regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors of Alexandria Township was held on the 20th day of August, 2018 at the Alexandria Township Conference Room, 324 Broadway.

ROLL CALL:  Supervisors present were Jeff Oberg, Joel Dahlheimer, Rod Eldevik, Linda Dokken-McFann and Jerry Wright.  Also present were Gregg Raisanen, Clerk, and Mona Billmark, Treasurer.  As said members formed a quorum and the meeting was called to order by Chairman Eldevik at 6:00 p.m.

Wright, seconded by Oberg, made a motion to adopt the agenda with the addition of Zunker Scrapyard update under Old Business.  Motion carried unanimously.

Wright, seconded by Oberg, made a motion to approve the minutes of the 8/06/18 regular board meeting as written.  Motion carried unanimously.

Dokken-McFann, seconded by Dahlheimer made a motion to authorize payment of claims 18167 – 18181 in the amount of $21,106.29, EFTPS of $1,562.13 totaling $22,668.42 and a transfer of funds from savings of $15,000.00.  Motion carried unanimously.

CITIZEN’S CONCERNS:  none

PLANNING AND ZONING:  Clerk Raisanen reported that Pamela Randle had contacted Zoning Administrator Oleson in regard to the concrete barriers placed on her property line.  Ms. Randle told him that she has contracted with a fencing company to install a chain link fence in a couple of weeks and will remove the barriers once the fence is installed.

ENGINEER’S REPORT:  None

OLD BUSINESS:  Chairman Eldevik reported he had contacted Duane Klimek with regard to the drainage ditch located along Kevin Baumann’s property. Mr. Klimek acknowledged they had removed the original drainage tile years ago and were willing to install new 12” tile within the drainage easement.  They will work with the landowner to resolve the issue.

Chairman Eldevik, Clerk Raisanen, and Attorney Johnson viewed the Zunker property.  There has been some activity since the last visit; however, a significant amount of scrap remains on the property. The board was in consensus to proceed with a court order to authorize the township to remove the remaining items in compliance with the original settlement agreement.

NEW BUSINESS:  Clerk Raisanen reported the primary election was conducted with very few issues.  One change was the use of electronic poll pads for voter check-in and new voter registrations.  The devices work well; however, new voter registration took longer and the county has supplied 3 units for Alexandria Township.  Clerk Raisanen has requested an additional two units from the county to be used for the general election.

Being no further business, Dahlheimer, seconded by Oberg, made a motion to adjourn the meeting.  Meeting adjourned at 6:30 p.m.

Respectfully submitted….
