Minutes of the meeting of April 20, 2020

A regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors of Alexandria Township was held on the 20th day of March, 2020 by virtual communications.

ROLL CALL:  Supervisors present were Joel Dahlheimer, Jeff Oberg, Dennis Butz, Rod Eldevik, and Jerry Wright.  Also present were Gregg Raisanen, Clerk and Mona Billmark, Treasurer.  As said members formed a quorum and the meeting was called to order by Chairman Eldevik at 6:00 p.m.

Oberg, seconded by Butz, made a motion to adopt the agenda as presented.  Motion carried unanimously.

Wright, seconded by Oberg, made a motion to approve the minutes of the 3/16/2020 regular board meeting as written.  Motion carried unanimously.

Dahlheimer, seconded by Wright, made a motion to authorize payment of claims 20067 – 20071 for $2,553.53, EFTPS $1,331.24, totaling $3,884.77.  Motion carried unanimously.

CITIZEN’S CONCERNS:  none

PLANNING AND ZONING:  Zoning Administrator Oleson presented pictures from the Billie Dropik property depicting a significant number of cars present.  The board expressed concern about his meeting the June 1, 2020 clean up date that was agreed upon.  Consensus of the board was to send a letter as a reminder to Mr. Dropik.

Zoning Administrator Oleson reported that the Ebel property on E. Lake Jessie Road has a significant number of vehicles within view from the road. Consensus of the board was to send a letter to the landowner.

The board discussed garbage scattered along Brackin Road. Two signs will be ordered and placed along the road.

ENGINEER’S REPORT:  Annual road inspections will be held on May 2, 2020 at 8:30 am.

Dahlheimer, seconded by Wright, made a motion to authorize Engineer Kuhn to obtain quotes for 5,000 ton of class 5 gravel to be spread on various township roads.  Motion carried unanimously.

The board recommended that Clerk Raisanen obtain quotes for calcium chloride to be spread on township roads for dust control.

OLD BUSINESS:  None.

NEW BUSINESS:  Joel Dahlheimer was appointed to the AAEDA for this year, and Chair Eldevik and Supervisor Dahlheimer will be the primary contacts for roads.

Wright, seconded by Oberg, made a motion to appoint Julie Haar and Shad Steinbrecher to the planning commission, each for a three-year term.  Motion carried unanimously.

Dahlheimer, seconded by Butz, made a motion to set the Administrative Assistant salary at $22.00/hr. and increase the PTO accrual from 5 hr./month to 6 hr./month.  Motion carried unanimously.

Dahlheimer, seconded by Oberg, made a motion to set the salary of the treasurer and clerk at $775.00/month.  Motion carried unanimously.

Dahlheimer, seconded by Oberg, made a motion to set the salary of the treasurer at $775.00/month.  Motion carried unanimously.

Dahlheimer, seconded by Butz, made a motion to authorize Bremer Bank as the official depositor of funds.  Motion carried unanimously.

Dahlheimer, seconded by Oberg, made a motion to designate Mark Sugden as the township attorney and Charlie Good as the prosecuting attorney.  Motion carried unanimously.

The board appointed Supervisor Dahlheimer as the chief weed inspector.

Dahlheimer, seconded by Butz, made a motion to authorize enrollment in the silver plan of the MATIT life insurance program.  Motion carried unanimously.

Being no further business, Dahlheimer, seconded by Wright, made a motion to adjourn the meeting.

Meeting adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
