Alexandria Township
Alexandria, Minnesota 56308
Minutes of the meeting of February 18, 2026
A regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors of Alexandria Township was held on the 18th day of February, 2026 at the Douglas County Public Works Conference Room, 526 Willow Drive, and via teleconference.
ROLL CALL: Supervisors present were Dennis Butz, Joel Dahlheimer, Rod Eldevik, and Jeff Oberg. Also present were Mark Meuwissen, Clerk, and Bryon Alstead, Treasurer. As said members formed a quorum, the meeting was called to order by Chairman Eldevik at 6:00 p.m.
Oberg, seconded by Dahlheimer, made a motion to adopt the agenda with the addition of appointing a representative to the AAEDC under New Business. Motion carried unanimously.
Dahlheimer, seconded by Butz, made a motion to approve the minutes of the 2/2/2026 regular board meeting. Motion carried unanimously.
Butz, seconded by Oberg, made a motion to authorize payment of claims 25279-25288 totaling $3,508.52 and a transfer of funds from savings of $3,500.00. Motion carried unanimously.
CITIZEN CONCERNS: None.
PLANNING AND ZONING: Zoning Administrator Oleson provided an update on the Dropik property ordinance violation. Dropik had submitted an image that he presents as proof cars have been removed from the premises. Two of the dates were in 2025. Other dates were hidden due to how the sheets of paper were stacked. Oleson said there is no significant visible reduction in the number of cars on the lot. The Board has set early April as the date they intend to remove the cars consistent with the court order. Considering this timeframe, it was agreed Dropik would need to remove at least 50 cars a week to clear the property before the Township’s planned date for removal of vehicles. The Board asked Oleson to communicate the urgency to Dropik and request evidence of progress.
Oleson provided an update on the Hoff property located at 2749 Le Homme Dieu Heights NE. Motion by Joel, seconded by Butz, to authorize the Township Attorney to pursue legal action for non-compliance with ordinances. Motion passed unanimously.
ENGINEER REPORT: None
OLD BUSINESS: None.
NEW BUSINESS: The Township had previously appointed Mark Meuwissen as an interim representative to the Alexandria Area Economic Development Commission Board. Motion by Dahlheimer, seconded by Oberg, to appoint Chris Kleine to a 3-year term as the representative for the Township. Motion carried unanimously.
Being no further business, Chairman Eldevik closed the meeting. Meeting adjourned at 6:42 p.m.
Respectfully submitted….
