Minutes of the meeting of November 17, 2014
A regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors of Alexandria Township was held on the 17th day of November, 2014 at the Alexandria Township Conference Room, 610 Fillmore Street.
ROLL CALL: Supervisors present were Lyle Hammerschmidt, Joel Dahlheimer, and Russell Niskanen. Also present were Gregg Raisanen, Clerk, and Mona Billmark, Treasurer. As said members formed a quorum and the meeting was called to order by Vice-Chairman Dahlheimer at 6:00 p.m.
Niskanen, seconded by Hammerschmidt, made a motion to adopt the agenda as presented. Motion carried unanimously.
Niskanen, seconded by Dahlheimer, made a motion to approve the minutes of the 11/03/14 regular board meeting as written. Motion carried unanimously.
Hammerschmidt, seconded by Niskanen, made a motion to authorize payment of claims 14236- 14252 in the amount of $3,658.04, EFTPS of $1,083.58, Net Payroll of $892.86, totaling $5,634.48. Motion carried unanimously.

ENGINEER’S REPORT: None
NEW BUSINESS: Clerk Raisanen provided copies of the mediated settlement agreement between Alexandria Township and Richard and Judi Zunker. The agreement called for total removal of all material at the property located at 1644 East Lake Victoria Road by November 30, 2014. Supervisor Dahlheimer recently visited the property and does believe that all the material will be removed by the end of the month. Clerk Raisanen reported that Attorney Paul Johnson will be at the next meeting to discuss next steps.
Clerk Raisanen reported that the terms of the two representatives to the ALASD Board of Directors will be up at the end of December 2014. Niskanen, seconded by Hammerschmidt, made a motion to appoint Joel Dahlheimer to a 4-year term and Rod Eldevik to a 3-year term to the ALASD Board. Motion carried unanimously.
Clerk Raisanen presented a request by Dennis Stark, Douglas County Emergency Management, to upgrade the two warning sirens in Alexandria Township by installing automatic monitoring systems to the sirens. Total cost for installation would be $3,803.00/siren for a total cost of $7,606.00. Hammerschmidt, seconded by Niskanen, made a motion to authorize the installation of automatic monitoring systems to the two warning sirens. Motion carried unanimously.
Clerk Raisanen reported that the contract for Zoning Administrative Services will be expiring at the end of the year. Hammerschmidt, seconded by Niskanen, made a motion to have Clerk Raisanen solicit a proposal from Hometown Planning for Zoning Administrative Services for 2015.
Clerk Raisanen reported that the contract for Engineering Services will be expiring at the end of the year. Dahlheimer, seconded by Niskanen, made a motion to have Clerk Raisanen solicit a proposal from Widseth, Smith, Nolting for Engineering Services for 2015.
Clerk Raisanen reported that the general election went very smoothly and the judges balanced the books early in the evening with no discrepancies. The judges did a great job conducting the election.
Being no further business, Hammerschmidt, seconded by Niskanen, made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Meeting adjourned at 6:25 p.m.
