Minutes of the meeting of April 21, 2014
A regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors of Alexandria Township was held on the 21st day of April, 2014 at the Alexandria Township Conference Room, 610 Fillmore Street.
ROLL CALL: Supervisors present were Bryon Alstead, Jul Feuling, Lyle Hammerschmidt, Joel Dahlheimer, and Russell Niskanen. Also present were Gregg Raisanen, Clerk, and Mona Billmark, Treasurer. As said members formed a quorum and the meeting was called to order by Chairman Alstead at 6:00 p.m.
Feuling, seconded by Hammerschmidt, made a motion to adopt the agenda as presented. Motion carried unanimously.
Hammerschmidt, seconded by Niskanen, made a motion to approve the minutes of the 04/07/2014 regular board meeting as written. Motion carried unanimously. Supervisor Feuling abstained.
Dahlheimer, seconded by Feuling, made a motion to authorize payment of claims 14085-14088 in the amount of $1,277.56, Net Payroll $1,064.20, EFTPS $1,440.15, totaling $3,781.91. Motion carried unanimously.
PLANNING AND ZONING: Zoning Administrator Oleson showed a current video of the front of Jack’s Family Recycling which portrayed material stored to the west of the established boundary. In addition, no additional screening has been installed in the front of the business. The board directed Zoning Administrator Oleson to send a letter to the owner informing her that she is in violation of the conditions in the CUP by storing material outside the fenced area.
Zoning Administrator Oleson reported that Douglas County is holding a public hearing regarding changes to their ordinance in regard to solar panel installations and wind turbines in the county.
ENGINEER’S REPORT: No items
OLD BUSINESS: The board discussed items from the township short course that was held on March 28, 2014. Supervisor Hammerschmidt inquired about cartways. They discussed a training video regarding the duties of the clerk and treasurer. Clerk Raisanen will obtain a copy of the video.
Being no further business, Feuling, seconded by Hammerschmidt, made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Meeting adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
