Minutes of the meeting of September 9, 2009
A regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors of Alexandria Township was held on the 9th day of September 2009 at the Alexandria Township Conference Room, 610 Fillmore Street.
ROLL CALL: Supervisors present were Bryon Alstead, Louis Ross, Joel Dahlheimer and Roger Thalman. Also present were Gregg Raisanen, Clerk, and Mona Billmark, Treasurer. As said members formed a quorum and the meeting was called to order by Chairman Thalman at 6:00 p.m.
Ross, seconded by Alstead, made a motion to adopt the agenda with the addition of a weeds issue at 2212 Lake Victoria under Citizens Concerns and park inspection under New Business. Motion carried unanimously.
Alstead, seconded by Ross, made a motion to approve the minutes of the 8/17/09 regular board meeting as written. Motion carried unanimously.
Dahlheimer, seconded by Alstead, made a motion to authorize payment of claims 9246 – 9262 in the amount of $17,651.34, net payroll of $4,927.29 for a total of $22,578.63 and a transfer from savings into checking of $17,000.00. The board discussed the bill from the humane society for animals. Supervisor Ross will review what was discussed previously with the humane society director to determine if there is anything that can be done to reduce the bill. Motion carried unanimously.
CITIZEN’S CONCERNS: Supervisor Ross had received a complaint regarding weeds at 2212 Lake Victoria. He contacted the resident and the issue was resolved.
PLANNING AND ZONING: Zoning Administrator Oleson provided a written staff report concerning issues for discussion that had come before the planning commission at their last meeting.
Clerk Raisanen stated that the culvert/drainage issue on E. Lake Burgen will come before the planning commission at their next meeting via a conditional use permit application.
ENGINEER’S REPORT: Engineer Kuhn provided an update on the Erickson Heritage project. He stated that the project was complete with turf restoration and final payment can be made.
Engineer Kuhn contacted the landowner on Shadow Lane who had complained of standing water in the ditch and recommended that the owner refrain from irrigating his lawn adjacent to the ditch.
OLD BUSINESS: None
NEW BUSINESS: Clerk Raisanen will have the 2010 budget ready for review at the next meeting.
Supervisor Alstead provided an update on Woodland Park.
Being no further business, Ross, seconded by Dahlheimer, made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Meeting adjourned at 6:19 p.m.
