NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given that the Alexandria Township Planning Commission will convene on November 26, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. at the Township Conference Room (located at 610 Fillmore Street behind Trumm Drug) to conduct the following public hearings:

Application for Conditional Use for a shoreland alteration on a steep slope. Mark and Carmon Watkins, Applicants (William and Laura Meade, owners). Property is located at 304 E. Lake Geneva Road NE.  Legal description:  S/T/R 15/128/37.  Lot 13, Block 1, Erickson Heritage.  Ac .6 (Parcel No. 03-1350-000).

Application for Preliminary Plat of “Second Addition to Rambows Subdivision.”  Arlynn Johnson, applicant (Susan Lee, owner).  Property is located at 2701 – 50th Avenue SE.  Legal description: S/T/R 33/128/37.  Rambows Sub 1st Addn.  E’ly pt of Lot 2 Blk 2 (436.72’ on platted road and 387.63’ on County Road #80).  Ac 2.96 (Parcel No. 03-2170-000).

Discuss potential amendments to the Alexandria Township Comprehensive Plan identifying additional areas appropriate for Commercial/Light Industrial uses. Areas to be discussed are the SW4 of Section 27 and the NW4 of Section 34 along Co Rd 81.

Rezoning from Urban Residential (UR) to Industrial(I) or Commercial-Rural (C-R).  Kathy Hodges (Jack’s Family Recycling), applicant (Arlene Baumann, owner).  Property is located at  3511/3801 Hazel Hill Road SE.  Legal description: S/T/R 27-128-37 SW4SW4 EX 5.18 AC, AC 34.82  (Parcel No. 03-1887-000).

Discuss potential amendments to Sections II (Zoning Use Districts), III (Zoning District Regulations) and/or V.F (Nonconformities) of the Alexandria Township Zoning Ordinance addressing expansion of nonconforming uses.

All interested persons are invited to attend these hearings and be heard or send written comments to the Township office at PO Box 445, Alexandria, MN 56308.  Copies of each application, the Township’s staff report, maps, drawings and other pertinent information are available at the Township office and are posted on-line approximately one week prior to the meeting date at www.communitygrowth.com/alexandria_township.

The Alexandria Township Planning Commission will be holding a public meeting to view this and other properties that are on the agenda and to gather information for the public hearing. They will be meeting at the Township Office at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, and then proceeding to the propert(ies).
