A regular meeting of the Planning Commission of Alexandria Township was held on the 23rd day of November, 2015 at the Alexandria Township Conference Room, 324 Broadway.
Roll Call: Commission members present were Shad Steinbrecher, Larry Steidl, Mary Hacker and Linda Dokken-McFann. Also present were Bonnie Fulghum, Deputy Clerk, and Ben Oleson, Township Zoning Administrator. As said members formed a quorum and the meeting was called to order by Chairman Steidl at 6:00 p.m.
Agenda: Dokken-McFann, seconded by Hacker, made a motion to approve the agenda as written. Motion carried unanimously.
Minutes: Steinbrecher, seconded by Dokken-McFann, made a motion to approve the minutes of the 10/26/2015 meeting as written. Motion carried unanimously.
Commissioner Dropik joined the meeting.
Public Hearing: none
Zoning Administrator’s Report: Zoning Administrator Oleson reported a resident had informed staff that he needed to change the dimensions on his building plans after his permit had been processed in order to comply with dictates in his subdivision’s covenants. The commission discussed whether the township has any obligation to research covenants as part of the permitting process. Conclusion was none.
New Business: none
Old Business: Oleson presented a copy of the draft updates to the comprehensive plan along with new amendments to Sections I and II. Discussion on whether to retain the information regarding the annexation phases for historical context. Consensus was to keep the annexation information intact.
Hacker, seconded by Dokken-McFann, made a motion to forward the draft to the town board and recommend approval of the changes to the comprehensive plan which would also include changes to the sewer district map and the maps depicting the conversion of State Highway 27 to County Highway 82. Roll: Dropik – yes, Hacker – yes, Steinbrecher – yes, Dokken-McFann – yes, Steidl – yes. Opposed: none. Motion carried unanimously.
Adjournment: Being no further business Dropik, seconded by Steinbrecher, made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Meeting adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
