A regular meeting of the Planning Commission of Alexandria Township was held on the 25th day of February 2015 at the Alexandria Township Conference Room, 324 Broadway.
Roll Call: Commission members present were Shad Steinbrecher, Mary Hacker (via remote location), Larry Steidl and Bill Dropik, Jr. Also present were Bonnie Fulghum, Deputy Clerk, and Ben Oleson, Township Zoning Administrator. As said members formed a quorum and the meeting was called to order by Chairman Steidl at 6:00 p.m.
Agenda, Steinbrecher, seconded by Hacker, made a motion to approve the agenda as written. Motion carried unanimously.
Minutes: Steinbrecher, seconded by Steidl, made a motion to approve the minutes of the 1/26/2015 meeting as written. Motion carried. Hacker and Dropik abstained.
Public Hearing: none
Zoning Administrator’s Report: Zoning Administrator Oleson reported that Douglas County has hired a new feedlot officer.
New Business: none
Old Business: Oleson reported that Douglas County adopted an ordinance amendment regarding temporary second dwellings. They considered the recommendations of the township as well as other comments brought forth through the hearing process, but ultimately chose to adopt the amendment in its original format without changes.
Oleson provided copies of Section V. “Goals and Policies” of the comprehensive plan with the changes discussed previously by the commission. The commission proposed no further changes to Section V.
The commission will discuss Section VI. “Future Land Use” of the comprehensive plan at their next meeting.
Adjournment: Being no further business Hacker, seconded by Dropik, made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Meeting adjourned at 6:37 p.m.
