Minutes of the meeting of August 16, 2021
A regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors of Alexandria Township was held on the 16th day of August, 2021 at the Alexandria Township Conference Room, 324 Broadway and via teleconference.
ROLL CALL: Supervisors present were Jeff Oberg, Joel Dahlheimer, Rod Eldevik, and Dennis Butz. Also present were Gregg Raisanen, Clerk with Mona Billmark, Treasurer attending via teleconference. As said members formed a quorum and the meeting was called to order by Chairman Eldevik at 6:00 p.m.
Oberg, seconded by Butz, made a motion to adopt the agenda as presented. Motion carried unanimously.
Oberg, seconded by Dahlheimer, made a motion to approve the minutes of the 08/02/21 regular board meeting as written. Motion carried unanimously.
Supervisor Wright joined the meeting.
Butz, seconded by Dahlheimer, made a motion to authorize payment of claims 21145 – 21151 in the amount of $11,726.25, EFTPS of $1,729.92, totaling $13,456.17. Motion carried unanimously.
CITIZEN’S CONCERNS: None
PLANNING AND ZONING: Mark Medenwaldt was present to discuss the zoning status of his property, half is zoned commercial and half zoned rural residential. Zoning Administrator Oleson reported the zoning designations were made prior to the township’s implementing their own planning and zoning. No action is needed until Mr. Medenwaldt sells his property.
ENGINEER’S REPORT: None
OLD BUSINESS: None
NEW BUSINESS: Clerk Raisanen reported that the summer road maintenance contract expires at the end of September and requested approval to advertise for RFPs for a winter contract. Dahlheimer, seconded by Oberg, made a motion to authorize advertisement for quotes for a winter road maintenance contract. Motion carried unanimously.
Clerk Raisanen reported Alexandria Township had received half of the stimulus funding, the remainder to be disbursed a year later. Qualifying projects include broadband installation and sewer infrastructure projects.
The board was informed that the planning commission will be holding a public hearing on Monday, August 23rd, to hear a request by Massman Corporation to rezone a parcel located off of Hazel Hill Road. The supervisors are welcome to attend since it is a noticed public hearing.
Being no further business, Dahlheimer, seconded by Oberg, made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
Meeting adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
