Minutes of the meeting of February 1, 2016
A regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors of Alexandria Township was held on the 1st day of February, 2016 at the Alexandria Township Conference Room, 324 Broadway.
ROLL CALL: Supervisors present were Jul Feuling, Jeff Oberg, Joel Dahlheimer, Rod Eldevik and Russell Niskanen. Also present were Gregg Raisanen, Clerk, and Mona Billmark, Treasurer. As said members formed a quorum and the meeting was called to order by Chair Feuling at 6:00 p.m.
Eldevik, seconded by Dahlheimer, made a motion to adopt the agenda as presented. Motion carried unanimously.
Niskanen, seconded by Oberg, made a motion to approve the minutes of the 1/20/2016 regular board meeting as written. Motion carried unanimously.
Dahlheimer, seconded by Oberg, made a motion to authorize payment of claims 16023-16029 in the amount of $11,800.86, net payroll of $3,417.03 totaling $15,217.89 and a transfer from savings in the amount of $9,500.00. Motion carried unanimously.
CITIZEN’S CONCERNS: none
PLANNING AND ZONING: Zoning Administrator Oleson reported he will provide a draft of the comprehensive plan edits once the maps have been updated.
Oleson provided a demonstration of a program utilizing online permits with drop-down menus. Currently residents and/or contractors need to print out applications from the website and submit them via mail, email or in person. Consensus to have the zoning administrator provide this service for a one year trial period.
ENGINEER’S REPORT: Engineer Kuhn reported he plans to advertise for bid the road project consisting of Neewana Beach Road, Apache Lane and Colorado Circle (including shouldering) with Pinewood Lane and Lakecrest Road as deduct alternates. Bid opening will be set for March 1, 2016. Niskanen, seconded by Oberg, made a motion to authorize Engineer Kuhn to advertise the aforementioned road project for bid. Motion carried unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS: none
NEW BUSINESS: Clerk Raisanen recommended Barb Sather, Paul Stennes, Darelene O’Brien and Verla Schwendemann be appointed election judges for the upcoming annual township election with Darlene O’Brien serving as head judge. Eldevik, seconded by Niskanen, made a motion to appoint the aforementioned as election judges. Motion carried unanimously.
Clerk Raisanen reported that Cybersprout has forwarded their work thus far on the new township website. He requested the board view the website and provide feedback before the next town meeting on Feb. 17th
The budget committee, consisting of Supervisors Oberg and Eldevik, Clerk Raisanen and Treasurer Billmark will meet on Monday, February 8, 2016, 6:00 p.m. at the clerk’s residence to discuss the 2017 budget.
Being no further business, Eldevik, seconded by Niskanen, made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Meeting adjourned at 6:43 p.m.
