Minutes of the meeting of February 5, 2024

A regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors of Alexandria Township was held on the 5th day of February, 2024 at the Alexandria Township Conference Room, 324 Broadway, and via teleconference.

ROLL CALL:  Supervisors present were Jeff Oberg, Joel Dahlheimer, Rod Eldevik, Dennis Butz and Jerry Wright.  Also present were Mark Meuwissen, Deputy Clerk, and Mona Billmark, Treasurer.  As said members formed a quorum and the meeting was called to order by Chairman Eldevik at 6:00 p.m.

Butz, seconded by Dahlheimer, made a motion to adopt the agenda as presented.  Motion carried unanimously.

Wright, seconded by Dahlheimer, made a motion to approve the minutes of the 1/17/24 regular board meeting and the 1/29/24 special board meeting as written.  Motion carried unanimously.

Dahlheimer, seconded by Butz, made a motion to authorize payment of claims 24031 – 24037 in the amount of $29,658.38, net payroll $4,397.58 totaling $34,055.96 with a transfer from savings of $7,000.00.  Motion carried unanimously.

CITIZEN’S CONCERNS: none

PLANNING AND ZONING: Zoning Administrator Oleson reported a violation letter had been sent to a property owner at 2749 LeHomme Dieu Heights NE.  He received notification from the property owner that the debris actually belonged to the neighbor, 2753 LeHomme Dieu Heights NE.  Oleson acknowledged to the property owner via phone call that a letter was sent to her in error and that the town has remedied that situation by sending a letter to her neighbor.  It was noted by the board members that there are still other items needing removal from her property.  Oleson was instructed to send another letter to her asking for removal of these items.

Oleson reported the cargo containers on Island Drive / Crestwood Drive have been removed.

Oleson reported a letter was sent to the owner on Maple Drive / Co Rd 81 concerning an accumulation of junk.  He was contacted by the landowner’s daughter, who said her father had just passed away and, while going through his paperwork, she came upon the letter from the township.  The daughter has indicated her willingness to work with the township to bring the property into compliance.  Oleson will follow up.

ENGINEER’S REPORT:  Supervisor Oberg asked for a quick update on the ALASR situation.

Being no further business, Butz, seconded by Dahlheimer, made a motion to adjourn the meeting.  Meeting adjourned at 6:30 p.m.
