Minutes of the meeting of January 3, 2022

A regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors of Alexandria Township was held on the 3rd day of January, 2022 at the Alexandria Township Conference Room, 324 Broadway Street.

ROLL CALL:  Supervisors present were Jeff Oberg, Joel Dahlheimer, Rod Eldevik, Dennis Butz and Jerry Wright.  Also present was Bonnie Fulghum, Deputy Clerk, with Mona Billmark, Treasurer, attending via teleconference.  As said members formed a quorum and the meeting was called to order by Chairman Eldevik at 6:00 p.m.

Dahlheimer, seconded by Butz, made a motion to adopt the agenda, including a change under planning and zoning for tabling discussion of county ordinance changes.  Motion carried unanimously.

Wright, seconded by Butz, made a motion to approve the minutes of the 12/20/21 regular board meeting as written.  Motion carried unanimously.

Dahlheimer, seconded by Butz, made a motion to authorize payment of claims 22001 – 22010 in the amount of $31,547.00, net payroll $4,414.60 totaling $35,961.60 and a transfer of funds from savings of $32,000.00.  Motion carried unanimously.

CITIZEN’S CONCERNS:  Chairman Eldevik reported incidences of snow being pushed across township roads, which is a violation of state statute MN Stat. 160.2715.  Consensus to issue letters to residents on a case-by-case basis.

PLANNING AND ZONING:  Consensus to continue to monitor the Ebel property clean-up.  Zoning Administrator Oleson presented current pictures of the Dropik clean-up effort and it was noted that some progress had been made.  Chris Just was present to discuss the trailers parked on his property.  Consensus to have Oleson and Mr. Just confer on next steps.

ENGINEER’S REPORT: none

OLD BUSINESS: none

NEW BUSINESS: Chairman Eldevik reported the township needs to designate an annual polling place by resolution.  Dahlheimer, seconded by Wright, made a motion to adopt Resolution 22-01, a resolution designating Good Shepherd Church as the township’s annual polling place.  Roll:  Butz, Wright, Dahlheimer, Eldevik, Oberg – yes.  Opposed:  none.  Motion carried unanimously.

Being no further business, Dahlheimer, seconded by Butz, made a motion to adjourn the meeting.  Meeting adjourned at 6:47 p.m.
