Minutes of the meeting of July 16, 2012
A regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors of Alexandria Township was held on the 16th day of July, 2012 at the Alexandria Township Conference Room, 610 Fillmore Street.
ROLL CALL: Supervisors present were Bryon Alstead, Jul Feuling, Joel Dahlheimer and Russell Niskanen. Also present were Gregg Raisanen, Clerk, and Mona Billmark, Treasurer. As said members formed a quorum and the meeting was called to order by Chairman Alstead at 6:00 p.m.
Feuling, seconded by Niskanen, made a motion to adopt the agenda as presented. Motion carried unanimously.
Feuling, seconded by Dahlheimer, made a motion to approve the minutes of the 07/02/2012 regular board meeting as written. Motion carried unanimously.
Niskanen, seconded by Feuling, made a motion to authorize payment of claims 12154-12167 in the amount of $176,550.66, net payroll of $1,393.55, EFTPS of $985.18 for a total of $178,929.39 and a transfer of funds from savings in the amount of $175,000.00. Motion carried unanimously.
CITIZEN’S CONCERNS: None
PLANNING AND ZONING: The board met with a township resident to discuss the opportunity to serve on the planning commission to fill a current vacancy.
ENGINEER’S REPORT: Engineer Kuhn provided three written quotes for repairing Apache Lane. Mark Lee Excavating quoted $35,688.00, Alden Just Road Maintenance and Seph Excavating quoted $38,674.75 and Lakes Area Excavating quoted $36,160.00. Alstead, seconded by Niskanen, made a motion to award a contract in the amount of $35,688.00 to Mark Lee Excavating for the repair to Apache Lane. For: Niskanen, Feuling, Dahlheimer, Alstead. Against: None. Motion carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS: Clerk Raisanen provided the following names to serve as election judges for the upcoming primary election: Darlene O’Brien, Verla Schwendemann, Melanie Bosen, Brian Wagner, Marie Mertin, Paul Stennes, Margaret Movald, Anne Riggs, Barb Sather, and Cindy Lund. Dahlheimer, seconded by Niskanen, made a motion to appoint the clerk recommended individuals to serve as election judges for the primary election and to appoint Darlene O’Brien as the head Judge. Motion carried unanimously.
Being no further business, Feuling, seconded by Dahlheimer, made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Meeting adjourned at 6:25 p.m.
