Minutes of the meeting of July 6, 2011

 

A regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors of Alexandria Township was held on the 6th day of July, 2011 at the Alexandria Township Conference Room, 610 Fillmore Street.

 

ROLL CALL: Supervisors present were Bryon Alstead, Joel Dahlheimer and Roger Thalman. Also present were Bonnie Fulghum, Deputy Clerk, and Mona Billmark, Treasurer. As said members formed a quorum and the meeting was called to order by Vice-Chairman Alstead at 6:03 p.m.

 

Thalman, seconded by Dahlheimer, made a motion to adopt the agenda as presented. Motion carried unanimously.

 

Dahlheimer, seconded by Thalman, made a motion to approve the minutes of the 06/20/2011 regular board meeting with the correction of “East Lake Geneva Drive” instead of “South Lake Geneva Drive” under Engineer’s Report. Motion carried unanimously.

 

Thalman, seconded by Dahlheimer, made a motion to authorize payment of claims 11160-11173 in the amount of $26,402.77, net payroll of $3,548.24, totaling $29,951.01 and a transfer from savings of $29,500.00. Motion carried unanimously.

 

CITIZEN’S CONCERNS: None.

 

PLANNING AND ZONING: No items of business.

 

ENGINEER’S REPORT: 2011 Road Project Update. Engineer Kuhn reported that the contractor is working on a 600 foot stretch of Shadow Lane. There are concerns as to moisture content. The contractor will attempt to remove the excess wet material, put sand in place, tile and then top off with class 5 material. The area will need to dry out before applying bituminous.

 

Burgen Terrace Turnaround. Engineer Kuhn stated that we had received one quote of $2,700.00 from Alden Just Road Maintenance for construction of the turnaround. Motion by Thalman, seconded by Dahlheimer, to accept the quote of $2,700.00 from Alden Just Road Maintenance. Motion carried unanimously.

 

Lake Geneva Drainage Easement Update. Supervisor Dahlheimer stated that the landowner has requested more riprap. Engineer Kuhn said maintenance will be required on the end of the culvert. Engineer Kuhn to follow up.

 

OLD BUSINESS: None.

 

NEW BUSINESS: None.

 

Being no further business, Thalman, seconded by Alstead, made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Meeting adjourned at 6:18 p.m.
