CITIZEN’S CONCERNS: none

2010 AUDIT: Wayne Johnson, Chris Mitchell Accounting, was present and reviewed the 2010 audit with the board. He presented a 10 year history of revenue vs. expenditures for the township and reviewed the financial statements. He reported that the total net assets at the end of 2010 were $2,175,444, an increase of $145,630 from the previous year. Total revenue for 2010 was $1,120,827 and expenditures of $867,755.

PLANNING AND ZONING: No items

ENGINEER’S REPORT: The board discussed the striping of W. Lake Jessie Rd. The board’s procedure is to stripe collector roads and not residential roads. The residents in the area reported that this road was striped prior to the roads being redone as a result of the recent sewer project and desire to have it striped. Thalman, seconded by Feuling, made a motion to stripe W. Lake Jessie Road. The motion was amended by Thalman, seconded by Feuling, to include Maple Drive in the motion. For: Feuling, Thalman, Dahlheimer, Ross. Against: Alstead. Motion carried.

Engineer Kuhn presented photos of the private road off of W. Lake Jessie after the sewer installation was complete. It appears that the road was restored to original conditions. If the residents of the private road want the township to maintain, they would have to pay for the costs to upgrade the road to township standards prior to the township accepting it as a township road.

OLD BUSINESS: Clerk Raisanen reported that he had received a call from a resident who had called the sheriff’s department regarding a stray dog. The department reported that it was not their issue and referred the resident to Clerk Raisanen. Chairman Ross will meet with Lakes Area Humane Society director Christin Klimek to discuss the possibility of arrangement for animal control services after the City of Alexandria discontinues their service on July 1, 2011.

Being no further business, Feuling, seconded by Dahlheimer, made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Meeting adjourned at 6:47 PM.

Respectfully submitted….
