Minutes of the meeting of October 17, 2016
A regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors of Alexandria Township was held on the 17th day of October, 2016 at the Alexandria Township Conference Room, 324 Broadway.
ROLL CALL: Supervisors present were Jul Feuling, Jeff Oberg, Joel Dahlheimer, Rod Eldevik and Russell Niskanen. Also present was Gregg Raisanen, Clerk. As said members formed a quorum and the meeting was called to order by Chair Feuling at 6:00 p.m.
Eldevik, seconded by Oberg, made a motion to adopt the agenda as presented. Motion carried unanimously.
Oberg, seconded by Niskanen, made a motion to approve the minutes of the 10/03/2016 regular board meeting as written. Motion carried unanimously.
Niskanen, seconded by Eldevik, made a motion to authorize payment of claims 16199 – 16209 in the amount of $13,846.91, EFTPS $1,044.39, totaling $14,891.30 and a transfer from savings into checking $10,000.00. Motion carried unanimously.
CITIZEN’S CONCERNS: none
PLANNING AND ZONING: Chair Feuling reported that township attorney Paul Johnson had reviewed the Junk Ordinance and recommended minor revisions. The subcommittee will review and will forward a recommended draft for the next board meeting.
ENGINEER’S REPORT: Engineer Kuhn reported that all of the remaining items were complete on the Neewana Beach Road paving project and recommended approval of final payment to the contractor.
NEW BUSINESS: Clerk Raisanen reported that the zoning administrative services contract will expire at the end of December. Eldevik, seconded by Niskanen, authorized Clerk Raisanen to negotiate a zoning administrative contract with Hometown Planning. Motion carried unanimously.
Clerk Raisanen reported that the Engineering services contract will expire at the end of December. Eldevik, seconded by Niskanen, authorized Clerk Raisanen to negotiate an engineering services contract with Widseth, Smith, and Nolting. Motion carried unanimously.
Clerk Raisanen reported that he had received a Salt/Sand quotation form Alden Just Road Maintenance in the amount of $46.25/Ton. Extra Salt will cost $240/Ton. Clerk Raisanen will obtain prices from Douglas County for the next board meeting.
Being no further business, Eldevik, seconded by Dahlheimer, made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Meeting adjourned at 6:25 p.m.
