Minutes of the meeting of October 25, 2021 

A regular meeting of the Planning Commission of Alexandria Township was held on the 25th day of October, 2021 at the Township Conference Room,324 Broadway, and via teleconference.

Roll Call:  Commission members present were Shad Steinbrecher, Larry Steidl, Linda Dokken-McFann, Jessica Fettig and Julie Haar.  Also present were Bonnie Fulghum, Deputy Clerk, and Ben Oleson, Township Zoning Administrator.  As said members formed a quorum and the meeting was called to order by Chairman Steidl at 5:00 p.m.

Deputy Clerk Fulghum administered the oath of office to Jessica Fettig.

Agenda: Steinbrecher, seconded by Haar, made a motion to approve the agenda as written.  Motion carried unanimously.

Minutes: Dokken-McFann, seconded by Steinbrecher, made a motion to approve the minutes of the 08/23/2021 meeting as written.  Motion carried unanimously.  Haar, seconded by Steinbrecher, made a motion to approve the minutes of the 08/31/21 meeting as written.  Motion carried unanimously.

Public Hearing:  none

Zoning Administrator’s Report:  none

New Business:  Deputy Clerk Fulghum raised the possibility of changing the site visit schedule from the week prior to the planning commission meeting to two weeks prior.  This would entail changing the application due dates from the first Monday of the month to perhaps the last Monday of the month.  This will be revisited at the next meeting.

Zoning Administrator Oleson reported the town board had instructed the planning commission to identify areas in the comprehensive plan that need updating.  Consensus to target the following areas:  ALASD expansion; broadband access; feedlots; zoning classifications; VRBO’s; solar farms; parks and recreation, and the future land use map.  The commission requested Oleson to ask the town board for a timeline of completion.  Oleson to invite Scott Gilbertson of ALASD and Dave Rush of L&R Management to a future meeting.

Adjournment:  Being no further business Haar, seconded by Steinbrecher, made a motion to adjourn the meeting.  Meeting adjourned at 6:52 p.m.
